About the Artist

I have been surrounded by art from a young age.  I studied drawing and painting at the Orange County High School of the Arts and then earned my BFA in Illustration at the Laguna College of Art and Design.  With a foundation of traditional techniques I became passionate about representational oil painting.

As soon as I graduated college I packed up and moved to New York City where I studied on my own, soaking up everything the city had to offer. From the fantastic museums and galleries to the everyday man on the street, I was inspired on all fronts.

Several years ago I moved back to Southern California where I continue my artistic journey.  My current series of paintings explore my fascination with the growing craft cocktail movement in America.  Whether I am painting a cocktail, a figure or a cityscape, my core motivation is to capture the seemingly normal moments in life, that upon a closer look become extraordinary.

I am currently a member of the Portrait Society of America and the California Art Club.  I recieved honorable mention in the Portrait Society's 2012 member competition for the self-portrait above.   My work has recently been featured in Imbibe Magazine, Locale Magazine, Los Angeles Magazine online, and Societe Perrier.
